Our Membership
Committed to Christ, and to one another.
Explore How We Proclaim & Protect
Meaningful membership is the cement that holds us together.

If God’s Word is the foundation of our church, then meaningful membership is what binds us as one body. Both Christ and His Apostles command us to commit to a local church—for our encouragement, our protection, our instruction, and our care.

How to Join

The Path to Membership

01

Attend & Get to Know Our Church

We encourage anyone considering membership to faithfully attend our Sunday gatherings for a season. As you get to know our church family and sit under the regular preaching of God’s Word, we hope you’ll prayerfully consider whether the Lord is leading you to join us. If another gospel-preaching church is a better fit because of location or circumstance, we’d be delighted to help connect or recommend you to a faithful sister church.

02

Submit a Membership Application

Complete a Membership Application to let us know you’re interested in membership and to help our elders begin getting to know you.

03

Attend the Membership Class

All prospective members attend our three-part Membership Class, where we walk through the beliefs, commitments, and life of our church:

  • We BelieveOur Statement of Faith
  • We CommitOur Church Covenant
  • We FulfillDiscipleship, Evangelism & Missions

Upon completing the class, you may schedule a membership interview—though doing so is not an obligation.

04

Membership Interview

In a one-hour meeting, the prospective member meets with an elder to provide basic information, share his or her testimony, clearly articulate the Gospel, and ask any additional questions about our church and membership. The individual would then sign NCBC’s Statement of Faith and Church Covenant.

05

Elder Recommendation

During a regularly scheduled elders’ meeting, your application and interview will be reviewed. Upon approval, the elders will recommend you to the congregation for membership at the next Members’ Meeting.

06

Congregational Affirmation

During our regular Members’ Meetings (quarterly), the elders share the prospective member’s testimony with the congregation. The congregation has the opportunity to ask questions before they vote. If a majority vote is attained, the individual is joyfully affirmed by the congregation and admitted into the membership of New Covenant Baptist Church.

∗ Steps 5 & 6 are carried out by our elders and congregation—the prospective member does not attend.

“Membership is our way of joyfully affirming a believer’s profession of faith and committing to walk together in the Christian life.”
